As Lana's hand grasped the door knob the clicking abruptly ceased, she turned the knob and opened the door.
Her mother stood there staring at her, "What in the world are you doing? I thought you were heading out!"
Lana shook her head noting the darkness had dispelled from around her, "Oh, I forgot my keys," she replied pretending to grab them from the table by the door.
Her mother shook her head and muttered something too low for Lana to hear and headed for the kitchen, the smirk playing across her face once more.
Lana shut the door behind her and headed for her car, this time refusing to turn around.
She got in and started the vehicle backing out into the street and driving a few blocks before turning onto the freeway. A few minutes later she took the off-ramp to the area where she worked and headed into the parking garage.
She parked in her usual spot and got out of the car shutting the door behind her.
She headed to the elevator and pushed the button, stepping inside, the doors closed behind her and everything again went dark.
She reached towards the buttons to try and open the doors again but all she could feel was a door frame, then she realized she was no longer in an elevator but again standing before that same doorway.
There was no clicking coming from behind, only a scraping noise and a loud whimpering, she reached forward grasping for the door knob when the door flew open in front of her.
